As the drummer for the neo-acid-funkadellic trance band Gypsy Kitchen, Eric "Franco" Frank provides the backbone
for the band, fornicating his inner soul with the outer being. With beats that have been known to leave people in a state
of an inescapable trance-like stupor, foaming at the mouth, Eric is most content when behind his kit. His fluidity in playing
and constant need for new sounds give him a truely pure and innovative sound. Born July 9, 1984, Eric started playing in the
second grade. His career started with Quabalistic, a local grunge/rock band in his hometown of Mukwonago, WI. During his year-long
stint as drummer for Downcast, Eric discovered jazz music and was forever changed as his eyes were opened to a new light.
His influences include Thelonius Monk, Miles and Coltrane, Herbie Hancock, Medeski Martin and Wood, Phish, Karl Denson and
Les Claypool among many others. Eric uses TAMA drums, Sabian cymbals, Vater sticks, Latin Percussion, and various authentic
instruments found in his travels.
